Update via Simone

    Hi everybody

Firstly – thank you to everyone who phoned/e-mailed/got in touch and joined our training sessions.  Karen, Marion and I really appreciated the communication and it made things so much easier to organise.

KEEP IT  UP!  Let us know if you can/ can’t or want to join in.  Or, if you have a brainwave about what we ought to be organising, tell us! So what’s on offer in the next two months?

Flatwork:The fortnightly session at Moreton Morrell, run by Marion, have now ended for the summer.  They will start up again on September 8.  However, if people want the occasional one-off session at the college before then, contact Marion. She has already organised one of  these  -  on Tuesday April 21.  £12.  Marion thinks she could maybe fix up more with Liz Fellows. Contact her on 01926 429883, 07813 206356 or marismi913@aol            THANKS FOR RUNNING THESE, MARION.

The Saturday morning sessions at Stoneleigh Park have now ended too.

Show Jumping Lessons with Marie Edgar continue.  You need to be in touch with Karen Bennett if you want to join these.   There is also the possibility of group lessons (x4 to a group) on  Saturday mornings with Penny Cruttwell at Ryton.    Again, contact Karen for these. 07967 808402 or luckinumber@yahoo.com     THANKS FOR ORGANISING ALL THIS, KAREN.

Lecture-Demos and Talks

Sandy took the evening by storm when he dissected a hind  leg at Weston Village Hall in February.  Votes are already in for him to do a fore leg next winter! Jane  Hadley,  from Meriel Equine , gave a very informative talk about the new thinking in worming in April – with nasty bits in sample jars and some very useful worming charts to give out.    THANK YOU TO BOTH

Now, the last non-mounted session this winter/spring is a good ‘un: .

What are judges looking for?

A lecture-demonstration at Moreton Morrell looking at Style Jumping and Riders’ Tests    - on Tuesday April 28,  7.30 p.m. -  Tickets £3.50,  on the door.

To be taken by Patrick Print  This is a MUST  for anyone thinking of, (or being leant on) , to compete in either style jumping or riders’ tests this year.  And  it’s certainly for anyone wanting to take part in this year’s new competitions.       COME  EARLY  TO  GET  A  GOOD   SEAT

Spencer Wilton is taking a 1-day clinic at Kate Matterson’s yard, Chadwick End on Thursday April 30, 10.00 ‘til 4.00  The riding slots are filled  – but you could go on the waiting list  OR  come and watch.  Spectators welcome! There will probably be a barbecue going – so bring grub and make yourself known to Kate.

Philippa  has agreed to run a x1 day First Aid course which gives you the necessary qualification if you want to teach and allows you to be the appointed first aider at competions and events – very  useful.  This could be held during the week rather than at a week-end.  Look on the web site for possible dates.  Contact Simone if you’re interested.  01564 785534  079563 28884  or simonebentley@btinternet.com
